Top 7 Fastest Electric Bikes of 2024

Table of Contents

For the speed demons amongst us, we’ve searched high and low for the e-bikes offering the rawest power on the market.

E-bikes come in all shapes and sizes, and there are rides for all sorts of different riding styles, but there is only one thing that matters in this roundup – speed.

The 7 listed in this review are all thoroughbred stallions and simply fly.

So, if you candle a wild ride, join us as we list the 7 fastest e-bikes the world has to offer.

Fastest at a glance:

Hallomotor FC-1

Juggernaut FS XD Fat

Before we get fully stuck in it’s important to understand the laws.

There are top speed regulations for electric bikes in many different nations and you may not be able to ride some of these bikes in the country you live.

In the UK, EU, Australia, and New Zealand the maximum speed limit for an electric bike is 25km/h.

In the United States the law differs and it varies depending on what state you are in. 39 states have a 3-class system for e-bikes:

  • Class 1 has a top speed limit of 32km/h and has a pedal-assisted motor
  • Class 2 is an electric bike that has a throttle-activated motor and also has a limit of 32km/h,
  • Class 3 has a limit of 45km/h and in many states extra safety precautions are required for riders to be able to ride them.

Some states require you to register an e-bike officially with the authorities before you’re legally allowed to ride them on the roads – these states are Alabama, Hawaii, Louisiana, Alaska, Massachusetts, New Mexico, North Dakota, Wisconsin, and West Virginia.

You can find out more about the specific law in your state by visiting this blog we put together.

What’s the fastest electric bike?

So you now know a bit more about the laws, now let’s get to the fun part and learn more about the fastest electric bike in the world.

Hallomotor FC-1

2/5
Hallomotor FC-1

Good for – Speed

Price – $4,868

Top speed – 110km/h

Peaks:👍

Troughs:👎

Summary:

The Hallomotor FC-1 is an absolutely rapid machine, but it doesn’t offer the same quality of overall ride experience, or components, that the HPC models do in this list.

You can’t doubt its pacy credentials though, with it offering up a top speed of around 110km/h, depending on the terrain.

Weight/Frame

It comes with a weighty custom steel frame, which, although offering plenty of support, doesn’t make it a playful bike.

It’s a really quite cumbersome beast, with an overall weight of 42kg, which makes the handling experience feel clunky and uncomfortable.

We aren’t big fans of the overall riding experience as a result.

Battery

72V 40AH Samsung INR21700-40T Lithium Battery

Samsung INR21700-40T Lithium Battery

The bike comes with a 2,880Wh Samsung INR21700-40T battery, which is a weighty savage, contributing to that overall heavyweight figure.

It doesn’t offer a particularly impressive range either, topping out at around 75km.

It’s a disappointment considering its size and the bike’s weight.

Motor

The bike is better served in the motor department, with a 5000Wh custom motor, which offers a very hearty punch.

It goes a long way to coping with the bike’s heavy weight and it can remarkably get up to more than 110km/h.

It’s a mightily powerful kick, but it certainly doesn’t feel smooth in its power output. It feels very jerky and uncomfortable to tame in the corners.

Not ideal when you are carrying a big machine around with you.

Suspension

Taiwan DNM Burner RCP2S 265mm

Taiwan DNM Burner RCP2S 265mm

Taiwan DNM Triple Crown USD-8S DH Front Suspension Fork

Taiwan DNM Triple Crown USD-8S DH

The FC-1 comes with 180mm of travel in the forks, with a Taiwan DNM Triple Crown downhill model fitted as standard.

You also get a 265mm of travel in the spring coil shocks, which are also supplied by Taiwan DNM.

It’s a chunky set-up designed to cope with the rigors of that unwieldy bike, but it certainly doesn’t offer a great deal of playfulness.

The bike is too heavy for rough and ready terrain.

Wheels/Tyres

The FC-1 comes with a robust pair of motorcycle wheels, which are used to help offer enough support for the bike’s bulky frame.

They do the trick, but yet again, it feels like a cumbersome component and they feel clunky to move around.

You also get a super thick pair of DH tires, which offer a firm bite, but again add extra weight.

Brakes

Front and Rear HalloMotor Unique Dual Front Hydraulic Disc Brake
Front and Rear HalloMotor Unique Dual Front Hydraulic Disc Brake

The FC-1 uses a custom pair of hydraulic disc brakes, which have large 203mm rotors.

They’re nothing special if we’re honest and can feel under-gunned compared to the immense speed the bike can travel at.

That creates an unnerving riding experience and you never feel like you have full trust in the bike’s stopping power.

Final Thoughts

The FC-1 is a letdown.

Yes, it offers a fast top speed, but it’s a naff ride, which feels very heavy, yet doesn’t offer an impressive range.

It’s poor to handle, the brakes don’t perform well enough and the suspension figures offer a lot on paper, but the performance is poor.

It’s a budget bike in this sector of the market, but not one to jump at the chance at riding in our opinion.

Hi Power Cycles Revolution X

USE CODE [EMBK-DEALS] FOR 8% OFF ON HPC

Good for – Speed

Price – $13,695 (most powerful spec option)

Top speed – 96km/h

Peaks: 👍

Troughs:👎

Summary:

The Revolution X is the junior sibling to the fastest electric bike, the Revolution XX, and it’s much easier to get your hands on.

It boasts a top speed of up to 96km/h, which is still ferociously quick and it comes in varying different spec options, which vary in price.

Weight/Frame

The HPC Revolution X comes with a mixed carbon/aluminium frame, to offer extra sturdiness and provide protection from any potential crashes at high speed.

The weight depends on the optional extras you go for, with the largest battery and motor options, you weigh in at 44kg.

It’s a big old monster and that doesn’t make it easy to play around with, however, it’s made to be a pure speed machine and it does that perfectly.

Battery

The HPC Revolution X comes in varying battery sizes.

The standard 1,290Wh custom model offers a range of around 85km, but there are also 2 larger options – a 1,800Wh custom model, which offers a range of up to 120km, and the largest (most expensive) 2,400Wh model, which can take you up to around 160km.

The largest range option is $2,000 more than the standard model, but it does offer a massive day out on the trails.

Motor

HPC Gearless DC Hub Motor 6000W

HPC Gearless DC Hub Motor 6000W

You can also tweak the motor set-up on your Revolution X at the point of purchase.

The standard option is a 6000W HPC custom motor, but there’s also a 7000Wh option and the fastest 8000Wh model.

The most powerful option (which we’ve included for the model we’ve reviewed here) can kick out up to 235Nm of torque – a phenomenal amount of power, that allows you to reach speeds of close to 100km/h.

Suspension

DVO Jade Rear Shock

DVO Jade Rear Shock

DVO Onyx DC Air Fork

DVO Onyx DC Air Fork

The Revolution X is fitted with a heavy-duty suspension set-up capable of taking some rough and ready riding.

It comes with 200mm of travel in the forks, which are supplied by DVO, with the Onyx DC Air fork, and at the rear end you get a DVO Jade coil spring shock.

This helps the bike cope with the heavy overall weight and it does allow you to take on some rough terrain, however, it isn’t made for technical riding.

Flat and fast is where the bike excels and the top weight figure limits the bike elsewhere.

Wheels/Tyres

Kenda Nevegal Pro 26 x 2.7

Kenda Nevegal Pro 26 x 2.7"

It comes fitted with a custom pair of sturdy aluminium wheels, which offer enough support to take on high speeds and cope with the bike’s weight.

These are supported further by an ultra-durable pair of Kenda Nevegal Pro wheels, which have a 2.7 inch wide tread.

This helps with traction to generate those high speeds and cushions the impacts nicely while out spinning.

Brakes

Magura MT7e Hydraulic Brakes

The Revolution X comes fitted with the same pair of Magura MT7e brakes, the same as the ones on its faster sibling.

They do a great job of bringing this fast-moving beast to a halt and coming up stumps when you need them most.

Final Thoughts

It’s another powerhouse from the crew at HPC.

The Revolution X model is in stock and much easier to get your hands on (if you have the money to spend).

With a range of set-up options you can tailor it to your desires and it offers huge range and immense power no matter which battery/motor combo you go for.

The top 2 fastest electric pedal bikes go to HPC.

Stealth B-52

3/5
Stealth B-52

Good for – Speed

Price – $12,800

Top speed – 80km/h

Peaks:👍

Troughs:👎

Summary:

The Stealth B-52 looks the part – it has a very sleek-looking, all-black design and a burly suspension to take some rough riding.

However, although it looks compact and hits a top speed figure of 80km/h, it’s a weighty beast and isn’t the easiest to play around with.

Weight/Frame

When we say weighty, we mean really weighty – it comes in at 50kg, which clearly is an issue for the overall ride experience.

It doesn’t make it easy to manipulate, and that reduces the fun factor a lot.

It has an aluminum frame, with a super strong exoskeleton around the outside, which is there to help protect the electrical components.

Although it looks very stylish and has some important safety features in there, it’s hard to look past the weight.

Battery

It comes with a 2,500Wh custom battery, which has a decent range of around 80km.

Considering the overall heavy weight, we may have expected a little extra in the range department, but it still offers a good few hours of fun.

One big plus side is the battery charge time, it fully juices up from empty to 100% in only 3 hours – that’s one of the quicker battery charge times out there, which gets you out on the trails again at pace.

Motor

The B-52 comes with a custom 6,200Wh motor, which packs a serious punch, helping the bike reach speeds of up to 80km/h.

Certainly quick for a 50kg machine, and it delivers the power intelligently, dropping off and kicking into action without an unnatural jerkiness.

Suspension

The bike also has a chunky suspension set-up, which is needed given how weighty the bike is.

You get 180mm of travel at the front end and 200mm at the rear, with a pair of FastAce forks and a well-designed custom coil shock.

That helps cope with the 50kg you’re dragging around the trails, but also allows you to take on some lumps and bumps.

However, the genuine trail capabilities aren’t great due to the overall weight.

Wheels/Tyres

It comes with a 27.5-inch wheel set-up at both the front and the rear, which have a 2.8-inch tread.

They’re custom components, which are ultra-strong and made to cope with the stress of high speeds.

Although the durability is welcomed, you feel the extra weight and it takes away from any sort of playfulness.

Brakes

The B-52 comes fitted with a highly tuned pair of Minicross Hydraulic brakes, which have 250mm rotors.

They’re up to the job of bringing this big powerhouse of a bike to a halt and coping well with the heat stress at high speed.

Final Thoughts

It’s a very good-looking e-MTB and has some commendable features – the suspension, motor performance, brakes, and design, along with the top speed, are all great.

However, the weight is a real issue and although the bike is fast, it’s really sluggish in the handling department.

It’s only really made to head out fast in an open area and it isn’t an adept trail bike.

Delfast Top 3.0i

2/5
Delfast Top 3.0i

Good for – Speed

Price – $5,999

Top speed – 80km/h

Peaks:👍

Troughs:👎

Summary:

The Delfast Top 3.0i is a lower budget, huge range, fast-moving e-bike, which has some impressive electrical stats, but it’s an ugly bike and certainly isn’t one for trail riding.

With features that make it look more akin to a moped, it would look incredibly out of place among the trees and simply wouldn’t cope.

Weight/Frame

One huge negative is the bike’s heavy weight – it comes in at 70kg, which makes it incapable of riding on anything other than an open and straight forest road.

It has a steel frame, which helps explain the high weight, and it’s a terrible looking machine.

The handling can’t take anything other than simple cornering and it’s uncomfortable to ride.

Battery

The bike does better in the battery department – thanks to a 3,456Wh custom model, which has impressive performance figures. It offers a huge range of up to 320km on pan flat terrain and in good conditions.

That differs when things get more hilly, but it’s still a magnificent top-range figure and it means you can enjoy hour after hour of riding.

To get that big range battery back up to 100% of charge it only takes 6 hours.

Motor

5000Wh QS 205 V3 motor

5000Wh QS 205 V3 motor

It’s also a pacy mover – its 5000Wh QS 205 V3 motor can punch out up to 182Nm of torque, which is an impressive top figure.

Although it has the potential to get up to around 80km/h, the weight does inhibit this at times, particularly if you’re a weightier rider.

It also feels very unnatural in its delivery.

Suspension

The Delfast has 203mm of travel in the KKK forks, with a DNM coil spring shock.

The set-up just about copes with the weight of the bike, but it isn’t one to take on any playfulness.

The bike feels labored most of the time unless you’re opening it up on a long straight road.

Wheels/Tyres

The bike comes with a pair of strong custom wheels and a very durable pair of R19 motorbike tires.

They come with a wide 2.75-inch tread, which offers a lot of traction, but they’re another weighty component, which adds to that 70kg top figure.

Brakes

The Delfrost is fitted with a custom pair of hydraulic disc brakes, which have 203mm rotors.

They are under-gunned for the bike’s weight and don’t offer anywhere near enough stopping power to deal with the demands of a 70kg machine.

Final Thoughts

We would recommend avoiding this one. It’s very heavy, looks ugly, and has a number of underperforming components.

It’s cheaper than many of the bikes in this list though, and does well in the electrical department.

The Billy Goat V3

3.5/5

Good for – Speed & Price

Price – $2,599.00

Top speed – 80km/h

Peaks: 👍

Troughs:👎

Summary:

The Billy Goat V3 truly stands out as the GOAT in its price bracket. While it may not sport high-end components, its character, impressive speed, and reliable range make it an excellent choice for riders eager to join the fun without draining their wallets.

It may not be the fastest, the lightest, or the flashiest out there, but with a top speed of 80 km/h, it's certainly not going to be left in the dust.

For those looking to hit the trails with excitement while keeping budget in mind, the Billy Goat V3 is a solid contender for any adventure on two wheels.

Weight/Frame

Weighing in at a solid 101 lbs (about 45 kg), the Billy Goat V3 is built like a tank. Its reinforced aluminum alloy frame delivers the stability needed for blasting through tough terrain or hitting high speeds.

However, the bike’s geometry isn’t exactly designed for relaxed long-distance rides. The forward-leaning position could feel a bit stretched, especially for shorter riders.

Those below an average height might want to test ride the bike first to ensure a comfortable fit, as the reach for the handlebars can feel like a race towards the finish line rather than an easy cruise. Getting into a more relaxed position may take some adjusting, but the sturdy build ensures it won’t let you down on the trail.

Battery

At the core of the Billy Goat V3 lies a formidable 60V 20Ah battery that powers the ride and charges up to an impressive 71.4 volts with high-quality Samsung cells.

This setup boasts an average range of about 60 miles (96 km) in pedal assist mode and around 37 miles (60 km) when running all-electric—a seriously robust performance for the price.

When stacked against competitors like the Hallomotor FC-1, which hits around 75 km on a similar range but comes with a steeper price tag ($2,269 more), the V3 offers killer value.

While the Hallomotor screams with a top speed of 110 km/h, it's all about finding the balance between speed and distance. With the new dual battery position nestled right in front of the seat, there's no need to sweat over distance anxiety—just gear up and ride!

Motor

Pumping life into the Billy Goat V3 is a custom 2,000W rated brushless gearless direct drive motor, delivering a jaw-dropping peak power of 3,000W.

This powerhouse unleashes a ferocious burst of speed that can have lighter riders lunging toward 80 km/h in no time flat. For those on the slightly sturdier side, hitting around 70 km/h feels just right without breaking a sweat.

With a robust output of 170Nm of torque, this motor ensures unstoppable acceleration, whether tackling steep inclines or cruising through flat stretches.

Plus, with each revolution of the pedals, the cadence sensor springs into action, delivering instant power that propels you forward.

Suspension

The Billy Goat V3 comes equipped with a FASTACE rear suspension rated at 450 lbs, and while it gets the job done, it’s not quite the highlight of the ride.

Sure, it smooths out some rough patches, but don’t expect a buttery plush feel over every bump.

During our test run, the suspension held its own, but it didn’t wow like some high-end setups do. It’s perfectly adequate for everyday rides and light trail action, offering decent comfort while keeping you in control.

Just remember, if you’re looking to blast through aggressive terrain, you might want to consider upgrading or adjusting for a more plush experience.

Wheels/Tyres

Rolling on INNOVA all-terrain tires, the Billy Goat V3 sports a solid 4″ front and 4.5″ rear setup, designed to conquer various surfaces with confidence.

The grip is commendable, providing stability even when the terrain gets unpredictable. However, you may notice the tires spinning up a bit when hitting loose sand- it’ll serve as a reminder that managing those high-powered bursts requires some finesse.

Despite this, the bike held its own, rolling over obstacles without losing its cool. With added width in the rear for enhanced traction, these tires are built for adventure, ensuring your ride remains smooth and controlled across diverse landscapes. Just keep your throttle in check when the sand gets loose!

Brakes

Stopping power is crucial, and the Billy Goat V3 nails it with Ronglun 4-piston 203mm hydraulic disc brakes.

These brakes dish out the reliable stopping force needed when flying down trails or navigating bustling city streets. They engage with a solid grip, responding quickly and smoothly to ensure confident control.

A unique twist comes with the left brake lever setup, reminiscent of a motorcycle—this design not only adds to the bike’s aggressive vibe but also requires some adjustment.

With this solid braking system, tackling any terrain is a breeze, allowing riders to rein in the speed when necessary.

Final Thoughts

The Billy Goat V3 holds its own against heavyweights like the Hallomotor, which may dominate in speed with a breakneck top velocity of 110 km/h.

If speed is your sole focus, then the Hallomotor is likely your go-to. However, the Billy Goat shines with its perfect blend of price and capability, offering an exhilarating ride that rivals stronger contenders for much less cash.

Its strengths lie in a dependable battery range, explosive acceleration, and rugged build, while limitations include a more stretched riding position and basic suspension.

Those seeking the lightest and fanciest setup or riders who prioritize ultra-comfort on long journeys might want to look elsewhere.

Overall, the Billy Goat V3 scores high for its price and performance, making it a grand choice for riders ready to embrace the adventure.

Crafted for performance, it’s equipped with an impressive motor that delivers smooth acceleration to conquer both technical sections and flowing descents. It’s the upgraded 1800W motor that propels this beast to exhilarating top speeds of 64 km/h, making it perfect for both adrenaline junkies and casual adventurers alike.

Weight/Frame

Built from carbon fiber, the HPC Trailblazer combines resilience and agility, making it both sturdy and visually striking. Weighing approximately 51 lbs (23.14 kg), this beast is tailored for conquering trails where strength outshines weight considerations.

The frame’s geometry supports an aggressive riding stance, giving you maximum control as you navigate technical terrains.

Battery

The Trailblazer's versatility extends to its power source, offering three battery options: 546Wh, 728Wh, and 910Wh.

While it may not achieve the longest range on this list of 7, it still carries you for the long haul with up to 45 miles (72 km) of throttle-only range. And if you start putting your legs into the mix, you'll enjoy even more distance.

Motor

The HPC Trailblazer is fueled by an exhilarating 1800W motor, delivering an impressive 150 Nm of torque and a top speed of 40 mph (64 km/h).

While this may seem less jaw-dropping compared to the Hallometer's Tour de France-level speeds pushing 110 km/h, don’t underestimate the Trailblazer.

Its 64 km/h capability is nothing short of beastly, offering exhilarating acceleration for riders craving speed, agility, and control on the trails. Whether conquering steep climbs or shredding through technical sections, this e-MTB delivers an adrenaline-pumping experience that will excite even the most passionate rider.

Suspension

The Trailblazer's suspension system is impressive, featuring a DVO Diamond E2 fork in the front and a DVO Opal shock in the rear, boasting a plush 160mm of factory-tuned suspension travel.

While it may not showcase the latest technology found on some competitors, this setup provides just the right amount of cushioning to meet the demands of both speed and agility.

The suspension excels at absorbing impacts, transforming bumps and ruts into mere blurs beneath you. This dynamic configuration encourages you to seek out rather than avoid rough patches, inviting you to truly test its capabilities. With remarkable adjustability, it allows you to fine-tune your ride for confidence-inspiring control and ultimate comfort.

Wheels/Tyres

The Trailblazer's 27.5″ wheels deliver impressive nimbleness and dependable traction across diverse terrains.

For those seeking even more, an upgrade to a 29″ x 2.4″ configuration is available, offering enhanced performance for more intense rides. Tackling various paths feel effortless, with the tires confidently gripping the ground, even at higher speeds.

Brakes

The Trailblazer is equipped with Magura MT7e hydraulic brakes and commanding 203mm rotors, ensuring you can stop confidently, even on steep descents.

For those pushing the limits with heart-racing speed, these brakes offer the extreme stopping power needed to stay in control, making them a perfect match for thrill-seekers who demand uncompromised performance.

Final Thoughts

The HPC Trailblazer 1800W e-bike is lightweight, comfortable, and quick on its wheels, delivering a compelling ride experience.

Priced at $7,300, it may seem steep when directly comparing speed with others on our list, but sometimes it’s the brand that truly shines in the decision-making process.

When you consider the Trailblazer’s combination of agility, comfort, and overall performance, it stands out as a worthy investment. This e-MTB is perfect for riders seeking a balanced approach to their adventures.

Overall Final Thoughts

We hope you enjoyed our guide to the fastest electric bikes in the world.

There are some extremely speedy e-bikes out there these days and things are advancing at a pace – with the weight coming down, the motors becoming more powerful, and the overall ride experience improving.

However, it’s a delicate balancing act and it can be very difficult for manufacturers to achieve those world-leading speeds, without compensating in one department or another.

The fastest electric bike at the moment is the Hi Power Cycles Revolution XX – with a whopping top speed of 120km/h.

It’s the fastest ever produced, but there are plenty of companies snapping at HPC’s heels to break that record.

Watch this space to how this battle develops, but in the meantime – get out there and fly on one of these speed machines.
